| Services & Certificates | All services of local body governments in Kerala will be available on mobile screen from January 1, 2024, as the state launches its ambitious digitisation initiative, K-Smart.The e-governance project, the Kerala Solutions for Managing Administrative Reformation and Transformation (K-Smart), will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on January 1, making Kerala the first state to launch such a service.The K-Smart platform, developed by the Information Kerala Mission for the Local Self-Government Department, will facilitate numerous services, including applications for various certificates and permits, filing complaints, and other options. Piloting with all municipalities and municipal corporations in the state, K-Smart will be expanded to all panchayats by April to enable people to access all the services in a time-bound manner without visiting the offices, officials said. State Minister for Local Self-Governments, MB Rajesh, said that the K-Smart application is going to be a "national model" as no other state in the country has taken such an initiative. |

| Waste managment | As part of the Waste-Free New Kerala campaign, it has been decided to organize a children's green assembly in Kottakkal Municipality. The meeting, chaired by Municipal Chairman Dr. K. Hanisha, was attended by teachers, public representatives and officials as part of the initiative to boost waste management activities with the participation of students in the field of waste management. The green assembly will be organized with the participation of students from the schools of the municipality. The governing body will try to implement waste management activities through the project, giving importance to the suggestions received from the students. | NMMS inauguration | Kottakkal Municipality conducted NMMS model exam and training. As part of the Kottakkal Municipality's 2024 educational empowerment program, the Learn Well Hub project, the NMMS model exam was conducted at the Kottakkal Municipality's AKM Higher Secondary School, Kottakkal Municipality. Registration was done online for the contestants through the link. 812 people registered online for the NMMS scholarship exam. Students from the Kottakkal Municipality limits and students from Kozhikode, Palakkad and Thrissur districts registered and wrote the exam. The exam was conducted today at Kottoor AKMHSS and Chappanangadi Higher Secondary School. A guidance class was also conducted for the parents of the contestants at Kottoor AKMHS. The program was presided over by Kottakkal Municipality Deputy Chairman Muhammed Ali Cherada and inaugurated by Chairperson Dr. Haneesha. The Education Standing Committee Chairperson Teacher welcomed the students. Welfare Standing Committee Chairman Alambatil Razak, Councilors Safira Aslam, Shabna Shahul, Principal Ali Master of AKM Higher Secondary School and Headmistress Saifunnisa Teacher extended their greetings. International Trainer Maths Guru Salim Faisal Master conducted a guidance class for parents to make their children aware of various competitive exams and motivate them. About 600 students participated in the NMMS Model Exam at 2 centers. |
