Kottakkal Municipality Chairman Shri K K Nazer has received the Mahathmaji Award insttitued by the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Society in recognition of his outstanding   contributions as one of the best municipal chairperson in the state . 

He was selected for the prestigious award in recognition of various public welfare initiatives and urban development projects undertaken by kottakkal municipality . These initiatives  include schemes providing monthly pensions to cancer and kidney patients within the municipal limits ,reflecting the Municipality's commitment to social welfare and public service.
